Frequently asked questions – Sanitation

Do you only do restroom user feedback using QR Codes?

AirVote QR codes can capture real-time feedback from restroom users in portable restrooms, luxury restroom trailers, handwash stations, etc. It can also log services by the technicians and register customer service requests, such as a roll-off dumpster swap.

When used for service logs, what does it do?

Driver can take pictures, comments, services provided, and location. The full history of services can be exported as a table or viewed on a map in real-time.

Can I use AirVote to track my units?
Absolutely. Every scan of the QR code attempts to grab the person’s current location and updates the unit location on the map, with the entire history of moves.
How does tracking work?

Every time the system receives a GPS location from the device that scanned the QR code (the user or the driver), it compares it with its previous recorded location. If the location is different, it moves the unit on the map to the new location.

Are my assets shown on a map?
Yes, the map can show both the user responses and the asset locations. For different types of assets such as toilets, trailers, handwash stations, tanks, dumpsters, or grease traps, the map displays them with different icons.
Can I use AirVote QR code as a serial number?

Yes, and many PROs choose to do so. Each set of QR codes is unique and displays a unique number. A variety of full-color designs are available, from vinyl decals to acrylic or stainless steel displays with either permanent adhesive or rivet holes.

Can I use AirVote if my units are not serialized?
Yes, you can. Just placing AirVote QR code into the unit will give you feedback and unit location (if a person scanning the QR code allows sharing their GPS).
Many PROs who have not serialized their units, use AirVote’s service logging. When the driver services the unit, they scan the QR code, and it grabs their geolocation. That location will show in future user feedback and on the AirVote map, even if the unit does not have a separate assigned “serial number”.
I also have the handwash stations and dumpsters. Can I see them on the map separately?
Yes. Each asset type can have its own map icon, so you can visually see what’s where.
Is the user response anonymous?

It is – unless the user chooses to leave the contact information.

Do I know the location of the airvote from a restroom user?
Short answer: typically yes. The unit location can come from three places:
  1. Your CRM: if your units are serialized, the user’s airvote includes the unit’s serial#. If your CRM/routing system keeps the geolocations of individual units, you can see it there. If AirVote is integrated with your CRM, the location will show even in the user response itself.
  2. Your service history: if you use AirVote to log services, the location is updated every time your driver scans the QR code while servicing the unit. The user responses will include that location.
  3. The user’s location. The system also attempts to grab the user device geolocation at the time of the response. If the user allows sharing it, the system saves it, too, as the latest best-known geolocation. It can even remember that last location for future responses, even if the next user decides not to share it. Actual user location in real-time helps find units if your customer moves them.
If none of the above is true (no CRM, no location from the driver, and the user didn’t allow sharing of their device GPS), the unit location will not be known. In that case, the system will save the user feedback, but will not send real-time alerts – they won’t be useful.
Are all the QR codes the same?

Every QR code is unique.

How do I get the notifications from the votes?
The notifications can come as emails and text messages.
Can my customer see user responses from the units they rented?
They can, with some custom development to fit specific scenarios.
Does it add good Google reviews? How about bad ones?
AirVote is very useful in adding good Google reviews. A green QR code can be linked to Google. Yellow or red QR codes are internal to the business.
The social media connection is not limited to only Google: it can also route a happy user to your Facebook page, your website, Yelp, etc.
Are you a CRM?

No, AirVote is not a full CRM. It doesn’t keep your customer’s information, and it doesn’t do routing, job scheduling, or billing. Think of AirVote as an extension for your existing CRM, providing end-user feedback that maps to everything else inside your CRM system. Some PROs who do not use a full CRM do use AirVote for service logging. But they typically also use a separate routing and job scheduling system or process.

Currently, it is not our goal to become a CRM: there are many good CRM systems out there already. We prefer to integrate with the CRM systems rather than duplicate their core functionality.

What does integration mean?
Your restroom user alerts will also include the information from your CRM: customer, rental, last and next service jobs, etc. See an example of how the integration looks like, in our blog post here.
Which CRM systems are you integrated with?
AirVote currently integrates with ServiceCore, CRO Software, HubSpot, and HelloTracks.
Can I integrate with my CRM?
Yes, if your CRM allows integrations. If the CRM is not among those we already integrate with, there may be additional development cost.
Do you use AI? How?

AirVote’s new AI module has been trained specifically for sanitation issues. It analyses user comments and pictures, and categorizes the. The accuracy has been amazing. It helps prioritize important alerts such as a tipped-over portable or leaking toilet in a VIP trailer. It also helps filter out content that is not useful or offensive.

How do you charge for the service?

Typically, AirVote charges a small “per asset” monthly fee. Currently, it is 25c per asset per month, with a $50/month minimum. Usually, a small operator would pay $50 per month and cover up to 200 units. We do not charge extras for additional functionality: for 25c per unit per month, you use all the features that AirVote offers: user feedback, tracking, service logging, and service requests. Scenarios differ, especially when it comes to large operators and those who are integrated with their CRM system. We like to tell our prospective customers that for a cup of coffee a day, they will know where their units are and have rich real-time user feedback about the unit’s condition.
